The countdown has begun. In a matter of weeks, Langdowns DFK’s CEO, Neil Raynsford, and Director, Graham Taylor will be donning their running shoes to tackle the gruelling New York Marathon for the last leg of our ambitious #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign.
Following 12 months of blood, sweat and (probably) tears, Neil and Graham will be facing their toughest challenge yet as they prepare to pound the streets of the Big Apple to help raise vital funds for Get Kids Going – a national charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity of participating in sport.
All money raised from our #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign will help the charity purchase a £4000 bespoke sports wheelchair so young disabled athletes can take part in marathons, triathlons, athletics, mountain skiing, as well as rugby, basketball and tennis.
Commenting on our #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign, Langdowns DFK CEO, Neil Raynsford, said, “Even though training has been challenging, both mentally and physically, it has been an extremely rewarding experience. Everyone has been incredibly generous and we’re thrilled to be able to help Get Kids Going, which has been an inspiration. Knowing that all the funds raised from our #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign will help purchase a bespoke sports wheelchair is hugely motivating and will certainly keep us going throughout the 26 long miles!”
Following our fundraising efforts, Get Kids Going, Chief Executive, Jane Emmerson, said; “As a small charity, we do an enormous amount of work to provide specially made sport wheelchairs and can’t thank Langdowns DFK enough for their support. We are delighted to have Neil and Graham on the team and hope they have a wonderful time in New York. Good luck!”
