After a year of tough training sessions and physical challenges, Langdowns DFK’s, CEO, Neil Raynsford, and Director, Graham Taylor, recently reached the climax of our #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign by conquering the gruelling New York Marathon in 4h 27 mins and 5h 01 mins respectively.
We are delighted to announce that, following Neil and Graham’s fantastic efforts, we have exceeded our original fundraising goal of £2,000 for Get Kids Going – a national charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity of participating in sport. Langdowns DFK is now on track to raise an impressive £6,000, which will help purchase two lightweight wheelchairs, worth around £3,000 each, so disabled athletes can take part in marathons, triathlons, athletics, mountain skiing, as well as rugby, basketball and tennis.
Commenting on our #accountantsfitforbusiness campaign, Langdowns DFK’s CEO, Neil Raynsford, said, “Even though training was challenging, both mentally and physically, it has been an extremely rewarding experience. Everyone has been incredibly generous and we’re thrilled to be able to help Get Kids Going, which has been an inspiration. The money raised so far is an amazing amount and has motivated us to keep going so we can now provide Get Kids Going with not one but two lightweight wheelchairs!”
Get Kids Going, Chief Executive, Jane Emmerson, said; “As a small charity, we do an enormous amount of work to provide specially made sport wheelchairs and can’t thank Langdowns DFK enough for their support. We were delighted to have Neil and Graham on the team and hope they had a wonderful time in New York. Well done!
